'I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream"
Campers will learn about ancient civilizations, the tumultuous history and vibrant arte. We take a closer look at Central and South American history to discover what kind of art people created and what is was used for. We start off with Mexican ceramics, using ancient Aztec techniques to explore clay art children use their hands to mold an aztec symbol of their choice. We then head over to Peru, home to the Incan Empire. The sun played an important part as a symbol and the Incas worshipped the sun god. Campers use aluminum to create an amazing metallic sun sculpture.
By weeks end children get a chance to show off some of their artwork in our mini art exhibit.
Cultura, Musica, Arte
There is much to explore about the many diverse countries of Latin America, the people, music, history, and language. We take a trip into a few Latin American countries to see what people do, how they live, and what they eat. What is different, what is the same? Children will make a list of activities they enjoy and compare them to what Spanish speaking children enjoy. This is a perfect time to practice some Spanish vocabulary! Campers come together to create a large map of South America. We then discuss and practice the names of some of these amazing places. Students also get a chance to listen to some Latin music, dance to it, and create some instruments for our end of the week fiesta.

Teatro y drama
"The most exciting thing tends to happen in roles you never thought you could play"
This camp is all about creativity. Campers discover ways to become almost anything they want through acting, perfect for children with a huge imagination. After learning about traditional folk tales and cuentos, each child will be assigned a character. Children will then design and create a costume to "become" the character and that's when all the fun begins. Although Spanish is used all day , campers are strongly encouraged to practice speaking Spanish during role play.
Towards the end of the week teachers encourage campers to create a character of their choice for our very own fun and dramatic espectaculo!

Connecting to nature
"Every realm of nature is marvelous"
Whether it be sticks, stones, or dirt, we use our natural resources to create many wonderful things. Each day we take advantage of outdoor time to collect nature's offerings. We later discuss our findings and create arts & crafts using what we've found. This is also a great time for campers to practice speaking in Spanish.
Teachers will guide each child through the planting process by planting our own flowers in tiny pots. Campers will see first hand how the sun, soil, and water work together to bring a beautiful plant to life. By week's end children will take home their very own tiny planta to continue caring for it at home.
